| Pricing All pricing for Visual BSF 3.x is per developer and per application or project. All pricing is in United States Dollars. A license is valid for the life of a project or application and cannot be reused when a new project or application is started. For licensing purposes, a developer is
defined as one who uses the mapping tool or the VBSF API directly or
indirectly. Indirect use occurs when accessing an API within your application that in turn uses
VBSF to complete its function. A common case is when building an application specific persistence layer that wraps VBSF
functions. For example, this layer might be built by one developer and its API used by 5 other developers within the project. In that case all 6 would
need to be licensed. VBSF is also available in developer packs and in an organization-wide license at substantial discounts. We also offer discounts to educational and non-profit organizations, as well as to students. We will also gladly provide our products free of charge to charitable organizations for their internal use. Distribution There are no deployment or run-time fees as long as you meet the conditions outlined in section 5-c of the License Agreement. Ordering For credit card orders please fill out, print and sign our Order Form, and fax it to us at the number provided in the form. The order form may also be mailed to us with a check or money order. Please contact us at sales@objectmatter.com for any other forms of payment. Products Version 3.0 is available in two editions: Professional and Enterprise. The only difference between them is that the Enterprise Edition has a global shared object cache and the Professional does not. Internal benchmark tests show that the Enterprise Edition's global shared cache can improve multi-user application performance by 40% or more vs. the Professional Edition. Both versions are included in the same binary distribution file. A VBSF v3.0 license includes free access to minor upgrades and unlimited free non-incident support for general questions via our support group or by email. Incident support that requires our tech support specialists to review logs, schema files or source code can be purchased separately on a per year basis via the Support and Maintenance Option. Two support options are available: Basic and Gold. The Basic option allows up to 5 incidents per year. Incidents that are verified to be caused by a product bug do not count. The Gold option allows unlimited number of incidents per year. Both options also include all upgrades for the period of one year and are also priced per developer and per application or project. Please note that the RMI distributed edition of VBSF v2.x has been discontinued and is not available in v3.0 or any other future releases. License Types VBSF is offered under two licensing modes: Binary and Source. The Binary license includes only the executables. The Source license includes both the sources and the executables. An organization may license both types if desired. For example, an organization with ten developers working with VBSF may designate two developers to maintain the VBSF source, and the rest to develop applications that use the customized VBSF executables. In this case the organization would have to purchase two source licenses and eight binary licenses. |

Source Code license includes both the persistence layer and the mapping tool source code for both the Professional and Enterprise Editions. The source license allows the binary classes resulting from compilation of the modified source files to be sold or redistributed inside or outside of the organization. Note that source code and the mapping tool binaries (maptool2.jar) cannot be redistributed. See the License Agreement for details. All source code licensees must explicitly agree to the terms of the source code license by signing the appropriate section in the order form.
